 Day 1 schedule

 

General Announcements:

 

Please check the Mahoney website for the end of the school year events.  Here are a few dates: 

 

v      Thursday, June 9^th:  Project Reach closing ceremony 7-8 p.m. in the café

v      Friday, June 10^th:  6^th grade to Portland Museum of Art

v      Saturday, June 11^th:  8^th grade social at SPHS café 7-9:30 p.m.  Permission slip and money due now.

v      Monday, June 13^th:  Yearbook Assembly and distribution (end of day) After the assembly, yearbooks will be on sale in room 122 for $25 on a first come, first sale basis.

v      Tuesday, June 14^th:  8^th grade class trip to Point Sebago 8:00 a.m.

v      Thursday, June 16^th:  8^th grade step up day to high school

                     7^th grade class trip to Crescent Beach 9-1:30 p.m.

                     8^th grade final assembly 6:30 p.m. in auditorium

v      Friday, June 17^th:  Final Assembly for 6^th and 7^th grade 8:30 a.m.  Family members are invited to attend as we recognize 6^th and 7^th graders on their various achievements.  The assembly will last approximately one hour.

 

 

All library books are due back!  Please get any materials you have to the library.  But, we don’t want you to stop reading!  There is a book swap in the library.  You may come and take a book.  If you have any books at home that you would like to contribute that would be great.

 

We have lost and found items in our hallway near the main office, in the athletics office downstairs, and in the main office.  The items in the main office consist of jewelry, keys, phones and other like items which can be claimed by identification.  Stop by before the last day of school as items are donated to charity after that.

 

Students who have lost or missing items need to make sure they are found and returned or paid for before the end of the school year.  Report cards will be withheld if this does not occur.

 

Music announcements:

Sign ups are in Room 201 for next fall’s award-winning SPHS marching band.  All incoming freshman and interested 8^th graders are encouraged to sign up.  Wind instruments, percussion and color guard all have openings.

 

Remember jazz bands:  we are done rehearsals for this school year so sleep in from now on, but be on time for school.

 

8^th grade band members please get your music stands that you brought for Peak’s.

 

Sports Announcements:

 

If any 8th grader is interested in signing up for Football Cheerleading at the high school next fall please plan on meeting at the high school TONGHT, Thursday, June 9th at 2:15 p.m. in Room 26.

 

South Portland Youth Cheering will be having registrations next Wednesday, June 15^th at the Community Center from 6-8 p.m.  If you would like more information please sign up in the office.
